Deity Worship
Serving the Lord in His arca-vigraha form
OVERVIEW
Deity worship (arca-vigraha) is the merciful form Krishna takes to accept our service. The Lord is non-different from His Deity form and personally accepts offerings made with devotion. This practice transforms our homes into temples.
KEYPOINTS
The Deity is not an idol—Krishna personally manifests in this form
Start with simple worship: pictures, then Gaura-Nitai, then Radha-Krishna
Maintain cleanliness and regularity in worship
Offer everything to the Deity before using—food, flowers, incense
Learn proper mantras and procedures from senior devotees
PRACTICAL TIPS
Set up a clean altar in a prominent place in your home
Establish a daily routine: wake Deities, offer arati, offer bhoga
Keep the altar decorated with fresh flowers when possible
Never offer anything not prepared with devotion
Treat the Deities as honored guests in your home
FROM THE SCRIPTURES
"In the form of the Deity, the Lord personally accepts service from His devotees and thus brings them closer to Him."
